Planning Applications

Planning Applications for Knebworth Parish are submitted to North Herts District Council. Before NHDC makes a decision to approve or refuse an application there is a period of consultation, during which Knebworth Parish Council is sent details of full householder applications within the Parish.

The Parish Council is not consulted on permitted development, tree preservation orders or discharge of conditions.

Applications are considered at Planning Committee meetings held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm. The agenda is posted on Parish Council notice boards and website.

Members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings and allowed three minutes to have their say on a planning application.

The Knebworth Planning Committee makes a recommendation to the District planning officer based on planning policy and local knowledge. Their view is advisory only, but NHDC's planning officers do take note of the Parish Council's comments when they make their decision.
