A1(M) junction 6 to junction 8 smart motorway

Highways England is currently developing the preliminary design for a smart motorway between A1(M) junctions 6 and 8.

This scheme will be "All Lane Running". This means that the hard shoulder will be converted into a permanent running lane for drivers to help reduce congestion. Library Moves to St Martins Church

The library will be open as normal up to 1pm on Saturday 23 February. It will then be closed from Monday 25 to Wednesday 27 February, and will reopen at 2pm on Thursday 28 February in St Martins Church.

Chas Lowe Site - Large Deliveries

The superstructure works will commence in the New Year.

As part of the works there will be abnormal loads via large articulated lorries delivering site cabins and a tower crane.

It has been agreed with Herts County Council to minimise disruption to traders, residents and users of London Road the loads will be delivered from 6.00am.

The first delivery will be on 5 January 2019
