Hitchin Girls School Consultation
Hitchin Girls' School is consulting on the proposed admissions arrangements for the school year 2023/24 and is seeking responses from parents.

Tree Survey
The Parish Council recently commissioned a survey of trees on its land. The report shows that the trees are generally in a good condition, however one beech tree in the recreation grounds has been infected by a fungus that damages the tree roots. The arboriculturist has recommended that the tree be felled for safety reasons due to its proximity to play area and footpaths.

Remembrance Service Cancelled
The annual Remembrance Service parade, due to take place on Sunday 14 November at 12.30pm, has been cancelled due to the lack of policeman available to provide a safe road closure.

Public Meeting - Swangleys Green
There will be a public meeting on Wednesday 6 October at 8.00pm to look at the outline planning application for 230 dwellings on the site known as Swangleys Green. This site is currently in Green Belt and forms part of site KB4 identified for development in the emerging NHDC Local Plan.

Garden Waste Subscription Renewal
The garden waste subscription period starts again from the 1st October 2021. NHDC has been contacting residents via email (for those with valid email addresses) and by post, for those without email to remind them to sign up again should they wish to continue with the service.

A1 work – Pottersheath Road
National Highways plans to carry out structure condition surveys on the Pottersheath Road overbridge, which spans over the A1 near Woolmer Green. The surveys are planned to start on Monday 4 October and are programmed to take approximately 2 weeks.
