NHDC Suspends Food and Garden Waste Collections

From Monday 30 March, North Hertfordshire District Council (NHDC) will be suspending collection of food waste caddies and garden waste until further notice.

All food waste should now be placed into your purple refuse bin.

Neighbourhood Plan Consultation

The Knebworth Neighbourhood Plan Regulation 14 consultation ends on 9 May 2020.

Due to current restrictions arising because of the COVID-19 pandemic, all sites, where you could inspect the full document, are now closed and the Open Day scheduled for 18 April has been cancelled.

HCC Operation Shield - Local Support System

Herts County Council is working on the implementation of a new Local Support System, 'Operation Shield', to provide basic groceries to several thousand of our most vulnerable and isolated residents who are without a support network of friends and family. Knebworth Neighbourhood Plan - Presubmission Consultation

The Knebworth Neighbourhood Plan - Presubmission is out for consultation from 14 March 2020 to 9 May 2020.

The document cannot override the NHDC Local Plan and remove the sites allocated for development in Knebworth, however it contains a number of policies which aim to mitigate the impact on the village.

NHDC Local Plan Hearings Postponed

The Planning Inspector has been monitoring carefully the situation and advice in relation to the coronavirus (COVID-19). . He has decided, with the Council, that the hearing sessions currently scheduled for 16 March to 26 March, and on 7 and 8 April, should be cancelled and postponed to a later date.

Transport Plans Consultation ends 30 March

Herts County Council is currently consulting on two transport plans which are relevant to Knebworth. The North Central (NCGTP) and South Central Growth Transport Plans cover North Herts, Welwyn Hatfield and the A1 and B197 corridors. Knebworth Parish Council Saves the Station Pub

As you have probably noticed, the Station Pub is currently undergoing a full refurbishment inside and out. The pub is now owned by Knebworth Parish Council which bought it with the help of a long-term loan from Central Government.
