Cost of living support
Hertfordshire County Council want to make sure that advice and support is available to help every resident deal with the cost of living.
Practical help is available for those who need it most. To make sure everyone knows what financial support is available, we are highlighting trusted sources of local and national information to help you manage your finances, make savings, and look after your own health and wellbeing.
All information can be accessed via Hertfordshire County Council's cost of living webpage. Head to: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/costofliving.
Food aid providers
Food aid providers like food banks are organisations that can help if you can't afford the food you need. You can find the most up to date information and contact details for these local organisations on the Herts Directory at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/foodsupport or by calling hertshelp on 0300 123 4044.
You'll usually need to get a referral to a food bank before you can use it. A good place to ask for a referral is your nearest Citizens Advice who can make an appointment with you: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/contact-us/nearby/?q=hertfordshire
Community spaces
Visit one of our community warm spaces this winter, where you can socialise and enjoy activities in a safe, warm area as the days get colder. You can also book free transport if you need help getting there. Browse the spaces available in your area here: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/CommunitySpaces
