Remembrance Day Service
Sadly, because of social distancing and other Covid-19 restrictions, this year it will not be possible for the British Legion Remembrance Day Service to be held as usual at the War Memorial in Old Knebworth. However, the British Legion has suggested that those who wish to lay wreaths on behalf of their local organisations or groups should do so at some time during the day (Sunday, 8th November).
If you visit the War Memorial to lay a wreath, either privately or on behalf of an organisation or group, it is important that you observe social distancing and all Covid-19 restrictions that may be in place at that time. It may be that there are times, such as 11.00 am or 12.30 pm, which will be more popular than others; these should be avoided if possible because of an increased Covid-19 risk.
As you lay your wreath, please pause to remember, perhaps in silent prayer, those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
