Station Pub Appeal

The Planning Inspector has determined the appeal on the Station Pub site.

He has placed significant weight on the social benefit of the provision of 10 dwellings within an urban area in a District which cannot demonstrate a five year land supply.

He considers the loss of an open, green and undeveloped green space within the centre of Knebworth unfortunate but, on balance, the development would only cause minor harm to the character and appearance of the area.

The pub is to be retained with provision of a 50 cover garden patio.

He has therefore allowed the appeal and planning permission is granted. S106 obligations were agreed at £7716 for HCC education, £1469 for HCC library service and funds for NHDC waste collection
