Health Walk

Posted: Mon, 12 Feb 2018 11:57 by Claire Graham

Come and join in the fun with a free walk and talk through the park in Knebworth at 10.30am on Tuesday 13th February. First time walkers particularly welcome.

We are a very sociable group and usually do 3 different walks of 15-35 minutes, with breaks if wanted. The shortest walk is ideal for anyone who wants to start exercising, maybe as part of recovery and is on a path with level ground. The longest one goes into the fields with a slight incline. We have walkers who have various medical conditions and some of us use walking sticks, buggies or wheelchairs. Entrance is by bus from Stevenage Road, car from Watton Road (SG36AH) or if walking from either of those entrances and also Oakfields Avenue. We have been meeting since June 2016 for a very sociable walk. Probably equal amounts of talking and walking...

After the walk, we go for (optional) refreshments at the Bowls club for which we give a minimum donation of £1.50.

We meet at 10.30. If you are new, please come by 10.20.

We will be there whatever the weather on alternate Tuesdays from 13th February and if you can't make it then, please come 2 weeks later on 27th February.

The walk is part of the national Health Walks scheme, organised by Knebworth and Marymead Patient Participation Group. Details can be found by googling "Health Walks" and our trained leaders have all attended a first aid course.
