Remembrance Day Service
Sadly, because of social distancing and other Covid-19 restrictions, this year it will not be possible for the British Legion Remembrance Day Service to be held as usual at the War Memorial in Old Knebworth. However, the British Legion has suggested that those who wish to lay wreaths on behalf of their local organisations or groups should do so at some time during the day (Sunday, 8th November).

Property Flood Resilience Survey

NHDC Local Plan Hearings - Postponed
The Planning Inspector has postponed the additional hearings scheduled to start today.

Sand Yard Development
NHDC has granted planning permission to build a retail unit with four flats and three parking spaces on the Chas Lowe Sand Yard. A traffic management plan must be submitted prior to work commencing. The decision notice can be viewed here.

Revised Traffic Plan London Road
The Parish Council, together with County Councillor Thake, has been working with Herts Highways to amend the current restrictions on London Road. The result is that 60% of parking spaces on London Road will be made available within the next few days.

Parking Enforcement
As lockdown is easing on 15 June NHDC will be issuing warning notices to those vehicles not displaying a valid permit in our residential parking zones or parked on a single yellow line. It will encourage people to contact the Parking Services Team who will advise them on how they can apply for a permit or where they can park safely. Herts Highways has published a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order for the current measures in the High Street and Station Road.

Road Changes to Assist Social Distancing
Herts County Council has started introducing measures to help people socially distance in its towns.
Knebworth has been identified as requiring measures and today parking restrictions have been introduced in London Road. It is also proposed to introduce traffic lights on Station Road to provide a wider footpath under the railway bridge.
