At the local council elections held on Thursday 4 May 2016 ,Stephen Deakin-Davies was elected as District Councillor for Knebworth. He replaces Alan Bardett who has stepped down after 14 years of office.

Residents of Broom Grove will be pleased to hear that Herts County Council has programmed to investigate/ design remedial works to address the flooding in the area in 2016/17. An inspector, instructed by the Secreary of State will attend at Hitchin Town Hall, Brand Street, Hitchin on 7 June 2016 at 10.00am to hold a local inquiry into an application for planning permission by Lightsource SPV for installation and operation of a solar farm and associated infrastructure on land south of Three House Lane, Codicote. It is estimated that the inquiry will last six days.

Ringway has identified the problem with Watton Road Traffic Calming as a CAT2 issue and an order has been raised to replace the bollards on the islands. The works are scheduled for the 16/17 financial year, however a date has not been programmed yet.
