Flooding Broom Grove

Residents of Broom Grove will be pleased to hear that Herts County Council has programmed to investigate/ design remedial works to address the flooding in the area in 2016/17. Three Houses Lane Solar Farm Public Inquiry

An inspector, instructed by the Secreary of State will attend at Hitchin Town Hall, Brand Street, Hitchin on 7 June 2016 at 10.00am to hold a local inquiry into an application for planning permission by Lightsource SPV for installation and operation of a solar farm and associated infrastructure on land south of Three House Lane, Codicote. It is estimated that the inquiry will last six days.

Traffic Calming Watton Road

Ringway has identified the problem with Watton Road Traffic Calming as a CAT2 issue and an order has been raised to replace the bollards on the islands. The works are scheduled for the 16/17 financial year, however a date has not been programmed yet.

Secondary School Allocations

More than 95 per cent of Hertfordshire children have been allocated a place at one of their preferred secondary or upper schools.

Library Update

The Knebworth Parish Council report in the March edition, page 15, reported that Taryn Pearson from Herts. County Council said that "a temporary library will be stationed in St. Martin's Church car park, while the new surgery/library is being built."
