Junction 6-8 A1(M) Night Closures

Emergency works are occurring due to recent inclement weather resulting in a rapid deterioration of the road surface.

Working hours for all of the below works are 8pm until 6am, weather permitting.

A1(M) Southbound between Junctions 8 and 7

A full southbound road closure between Junctions 8 and 7 starts Thursday 22 March, lasting one night.

Health Walk

Come and join in the fun with a free walk and talk through the park in Knebworth at 10.30am on Tuesday 13th February. First time walkers particularly welcome.

We are a very sociable group and usually do 3 different walks of 15-35 minutes, with breaks if wanted. HCC Waste Local Plan Initial Consultation

Herts County Council is consulting on the way forward for waste planning in the county. There are two documents:

- Waste Core Strategy and Development Management Policies
- Waste Site Allocations

The consultation runs until 30 March 2018

Changes to Brown Bin Service

NHDC will introduce changes to the brown bin service during May 2018. If you wish NHDC to collect your garden waste you will have to pay £40 for 2018/19 or £35 if you pay before 31 March 2018. Food waste will still be collected, but in new food caddies which will be issued during April.

Consultation: Prescribing of over-the-counter items in primary care

Just before Christmas, NHS England and NHS Clinical Commissioners (NHSCC) launched a national consultation on reducing the prescribing of over-the-counter medicines for 33 minor, short-term health conditions. The aim is develop guidelines that CCGs can use in their individual areas where they don't already have a policy in place.

A1 Resurfacing

There are planned roadworks on the A1.

The A1 northbound between junction 7-8 will be closed for resurfacing work from 1 February for five nights, excluding the weekend.

The A1 southbound will be closed from the Biggleswade South roundabout to junction 10 for resurfacing from 29 January for three nights.
